Return from friend's wedding we were delayed in Philly to Toronto. We found that out just after security. When we booked in (we had to show our passport so on-line did not work) the agent who agreed to serve us (the other told us that she refused to do this!) did not inform us that our flight was late. We were unable to find an AirCanada agent (the United folks REFUSED to talk to us) until it was the original boarding time so that any alternative plans were not possible. When we finally spoke to an agent who was falling asleep (she complained about being up since 3 AM & it was 8pm) we were told that we'd miss our connection in Toronto and that there was nothing to be done. Later, we spoke to another agent who informed us that our choices were to stay in Philly (at our expense with no help from them) or fly to Toronto and catch the first flight in the morning, getting us home 6 hours earlier. We chose the latter. The connecting flight left as we landed in Toronto and there was only one agent to deal with many folks who has missed connections.
