The Alaska Airlines Check-in website is ill-constructed overlaid with inflexible boarding policy. I am not a frequent user o Alaska Airlines. I used their online check-in procedure for the first time today. I went through online check-in on my phone and received the website with the barcode. I chose not to go for offline access, since I knew I would have internet access at the airport. I assumed I would be emailed the boarding pass or be able to recall it with the confirmation number online, if the webpage was not on top. When I arrived at the security, the webpage was no longer on top. Upon reentering on the website, I was told that I had already checked-in. After some searching and some hoops, I was redirected to go back to the counter (a shuttle ride between terminals at my airport) to check with someone in person. As it turns out later, I cannot call up the boarding pass online once I am less than 40 minutes from my flight. Going back to the Alaska counter further delayed the action, leading me to have to rebook the flight altogether. At the very least, the boarding pass page should say "email or text this boarding pass to you" and NOT "offline access". SO STUPID!!
