CX... do they really consider themselves as a premium airline? My last flight to Singapore from HK was a disaster. I was thinking if I have got on a wrong plane, which is one worse than a bad budget airline. i ordered fruit platter meal, the meal came in a paper box, with 5 pieces of water melon, like the size you have from starbucks, 2 pieces of melon and a small cup of raisin (those from the supermarket) and a dried apricot. The other passengers were not any better, served with a piece of cookie and a piece of sandwich, again in paper box. Why are we paying a premium fee for this service level? The crew didn't even smile for the whole flight. When I asked for a bottle of perrier, the crew just showed on their face "Such a troublesome passenger".... The seats are not any better. They can bearly fit anyone in. if that's a full flight, I will be like sitting in a sardine can with other passengers. The crew didn't know how to handle a parent with a crying baby either, on the entire 4-hour flight.. nightmare. Well... if I have a choice, I am not taking CX anymore, I'd better fly budget. At least I can get wifi on board and better seats. EDITORS COMMENT: It sounds like you ordered a special meal which I've personally not ordered but the standard economy meal is excellent. Whenever dietary needs are asked for the quality fo the meal and in deed quantity does seem to go down on all the airlines. If You fly a budget carrier I can guarantee you there will be no fruit platters and the seat pitch will be less unless you pay extra for extra legroom.
