Air Canada review by G 2016-07-05

We have traveled AC several times and have generally been very satisfied, but AC has changed and not in a good way. We booked 2 international tickets to VanCouver, Canada and were shocked to learn (a week before leaving) that we had to pay for a checked bag ($25 US), plus the weight limit was 50lbs., not the usual 70 lbs. for international travel. The weight limited forced up to pack a 2nd carry on, which we would not have needed had it not been for the reduced weight limit. If the limit had been 70lbs, there would have been one less carry on in the limited overhead. But, more importantly, charging a fee for the 1st checked bag, on an international flight! We travel at least 4x a year and going forward I will do my best to avoid AC. Anyone considering AC should read the details BEFORE you book and be aware of that their international weight limits change. I did not see the charge for the 1st bag or the reduced weight limit, when I booked.
