Air Canada has to be the worst airline I've ever experienced. I recently had to change a flight to different date and paid the required $428 in changing fees, I checked in ahead of time and reserved my seat hours before the flight. When I got to the gate we were told the flight had been overbooked by 2 passengers. I ended up being bumped off the flight and missing work as a result. When I went to a customer service agent she informed me that they do not handle this type of customer concern. They gave me a card and told me to call a number, which I did and waited 30 minutes to talk to another customer relations agent. The agent told me there was nothing they could do about it and that Air Canada regularly overbooks flights with no guarantee of actually getting on the flight and NO COMPENSATION for the ticket purchased. This is absolute thievery and they have no regard for their customers well-being. I tried asking the customer service agent to please transfer me to someone who could better assist me and he actually HUNG UP on me without giving me any information on how to resolve my issue.
