Air Baltic review by Amanda 2014-01-03

From Prague to Riga to St Petersburg We arrived two hours early and the boarding did not even start until exactly 2 hours till take off which was very nerve wracking. When we reached the desk we were told there was a "problem" and that we would have to pay over $80 to "check in" and to check the one bag we had for the two of us. We were then moved to another window and then had to come back and go through the line again. We had checked our travel info the night before and none of this was noted anywhere. I would have never believed that an airline would have the gall to charge people for simply showing up to take the flight they already paid for but apparently that airline is Air Baltic. Of course nothing during the flight was provided for free either, not even water. The staff was generally friendly and we had no problems in Riga (which seems to be common) but I would never fly this airline ever again. They blatantly trick you into paying far more than you expect.
