I would add to the negative reviews. Avianca is great (while often delayed and we almost missed our game for the World Cup!) if you travel without checked-in baggage otherwise you would discover another face of the company. It's been 2 days I arrived and my baggage is delayed (with perishable items brought from very far - let's note the Montreal convention actually does not exclude airline's responsibility for such items while generally excluded in the carriage contract and the US issued a consumer-friendly ruling, it is then a matter for court). I have been calling Avianca that is unable to provide me a clear answer as to when my baggage will arrive, their online tracking system won't work neither as it doesn't reflect the real status of the baggage. WILL NEVER TRAVEL WITH AVIANCE ANYMORE. Most LatAm companies would provide good service onboard but the difference is clearly in the customer service in such situations. I am receiving comfort from other travelers that experienced the company and my case does not seem isolated. (Flight from Bogota to Santo Domingo - AV 0250)
