AirAsia X review by Biggles 2013-08-23

We recently flew from Perth to Kuala Lumpur on an AirAsia X Airbus A330. We usually fly full fare carriers, but as this was a last minute trip the only available flights were on a budget carrier (but we paid a full fare price!) We bought food, entertainment and extra baggage on-line, to minimise the difference from a 'normal' airline. Our initial impressions at check-in weren't great, as the check-in people didn't even interrupt their own conversation to greet us (or speak to us) during the check-in process! Once on-board though, things were reasonable, the plane was well presented, the food was ok and the Galaxy 10 Tablet entertainment system worked well. There was not much of a selection of movies and shows, but probably ok for a short flight from Perth - except they handed out the devices late and collected them really early. If we looked at a budget trip again we would consider flying Airasia X again, except they need to do something to improve the sad LCCT arrival terminal in Kuala Lumpur.
