Flew Premium Economy SYD - LAX in November 2015. Priority check in at Sydney was nice, among the first to board, then offered a nice champagne or water/juice as the rest of the plane boarded. FA's are outstanding - very attentive, calling you by name and taking both meal orders before departing to ensure you get what you want. Very generous pitch, great headphones block out much of the noise and a comprehensive convenience pouch with lots of goodies inside. Better quality blanket and larger IFE made things comfortable. The extra recline also helps. Cabin is intimate at 40 pax, so the proposed 24 will be even more exclusive. Meals were served on real china and I got the impression that FA's are really trained to be much more engaging to their customers. We felt very well looked after. My only gripe is on the return leg - US ground staff had run out of PE labels, but promised our luggage would be given correct priority for our flight status. We were disappointed to arrive in Sydney after our long flight, only to be one of the last pieces of luggage on the carousel. Not enough to put me off, am now a huge fan of PE and find it is worth every cent for long haul comfort.
