Austrian Airlines review by Katie 2015-06-23

I inexplicably got a free upgrade to business class on my flight from IAD-VIE, which was nice. The seat didn't fully recline, and the foot area was a bit too small, but the service was great (if slow), the food was tasty (though the serving for the main course was tinyI think I received 7 gnocchi), and I knew it was a lot more comfortable than economy class. It was a bit stuffy, though, and the movie selection wasn't great. I'd give the business class experience an 8/10. I flew economy class back, and that was not a joy. The seats are TINY, and there are far too many crammed in. I was physically uncomfortable the entire time, since the seats are not wide enough for multiple people with broad shoulders to be sitting next to each other. Also, leaving Vienna was a nightmare, because the airport is extremely unorganized and inefficient, forcing you to stand in the same line multiple times for no real reason. On the upside, the food was pretty tasty. I'd rate the economy trip a 3/10. I've much preferred my flights on SAS, Asiana, and even United when flying abroad.
