What a joke this airline is. I boarded in New Orleans for a trip home to NYC. My mistake.......booking a flight based on cost. I had to book a flight on Friday for a Saturday departure so of course the cost was going to be high but I should have spent the extra money for Jetblue. Flight - The flight was more than a hour late leaving the airport and several passengers missed connection flights. I paid extra for a seat with extra legs room but did NOT sit in a seat with extra leg room. Thanks to airlines like Delta, I knew not to complain about this or I would find myself is some ridiculous confrontation with a flight attendant and sadly not come out on the winning side (conditioned for outstanding customer service). When we landed we did not have a crew waiting so we could not leave the plane. Connection Flight - No extra legroom seat again so I guess Delta can just enjoy the money they received for this. We landed early and was informed by the captain because we are early we needed to sit on the tarmac because we did not have a gate assignment. Without missing a beat, the flight attended come on the speaker to inform all passengers how Delta airlines is the most on time airline in the nation. Lets see here.......if the flight is early but we sit on the tarmac for 30 minutes due to a lack of gate assignment the passengers are NOT early, Delta is. We passengers did not get to our destinations early. Also, landing in NYC, NO crew so we could not get off the plane. Return Flight - First flight was fine....no extra legroom. However when we landed, AGAIN no crew so we had to sit and wait. Who is in charge of this?? Connection Flight - No extra leg room and a sloppy crew on the plane. As I am sure you can guess....no crew waiting when we landed so of course, we had to wait again. From this airline about all you should expect is to get where you are going. Do not expect to get there on time with anything more than very average customer service or organization. As we all know flight travel today is a mess but if I am going to have to give in the mess, I will pay a little extra to travel through the mess with nice customer service and clean planes from an airline like Jetblue.
