My fiance and I travelled to Koh Samui from Sydney via Kuala Lumpur and then to Subang airport, where we flew with Firefly early July 2014. My fiance is 6 ' 8" and as a result, a week prior to us flying out, he phoned up to request a bulkhead or exit aisle seat. He was assured that this was documented and would be arranged. Despite reiterating this request at Sydney airport, Kuala Lumpur airport, Subang airport, and on the return leg of our journey at Koh samui airport, Subang airport and Kuala Lumpur airport ( where we were told we would get the requested seats), at NOT ONE LEG of our journeys did we happen to be seated in a seat appropriate to my fiance's height. This, despite our best efforts of being the very first to check in at the respective counters and speaking with cabin crew, whose grasp of English was limited, at best. The cabin crew suggested that we ask passengers sitting in the emergency exit aisle if they wished to swap with us. By this time, my fiance and I were furious that a genuine and obvious request was seemingly unable to be accommodated. My fiance's knees were crushed up against the chair in front of him, he was literally unable to stretch or move his legs ( he is more than 205cm tall, after all). So, to sum up, abysmal , lacklustre, indifferent customer service, inedible food, rationing of soft drinks/beverages ie soft drink being poured by the glass rather than receiving a can, as used to be the norm. Next time I will fork up the extra money and fly with an airline that values me and my patronage. Will never fly Malaysian again.
