I went into my Norwegian flight from Oakland to London Gatwick pretty nervous because of the reviews here. Those fears were unfounded. The check-in staff was awesome. The line took a while because no one had bothered to follow the carry-on size restrictions! It's 1 10 kg bag, 1 5 kg personal item. We followed the rules and breezed through. The brand new 787-9 was great. The dimming windows, extra headspace, USB ports and outlets were such nice touches. There was an average amount of legroom, but the seat didn't recline as much as some other economy seats, which led to some back pain after 10 hours. We boarded and departed on time, and arrived nearly an hourly early outside London thanks to a tailwind. We hadn't pre-ordered food, and carried a few snacks with us. The Snack Bar prices really weren't bad. $7 for a good sized sandwich or salad, $3.50 for a large bottle of water, $4 for hot chocolate, and $7 for most alcoholic drinks. My only real gripe is that they should have a tap available to refill water bottles. They only did so after we complained. Overall, great value, I appreciate the a la carte pricing which saved us hundreds. Do recommend!!
