A seemingly good airline with a shocking underlying incompetence and money grab mentality. Budget airlines are generally expected to try and nickle-and-dime you but jetstars most recent push is to weigh carry on bags and then charge you to check them. A 7kg weight limit (obviously picked as an average a few kilos below what the normal person packs) is adhered to by the exact decimal as mine was 7.4 and they said either make it weigh less by throwing stuff out or it would need checking...for an exorbitant fee. But...you don't have a choice...you're at the gate, you can't argue with the lack of logic on weights and balances, you just pay which is what they wanted anyway. EDITORS COMMENT: 7kgs is the standard weigh for carry on globally.
