We flew recently from Sydney to Venice with Singapore Airlines as the main carrier but with the last leg from Frankfurt to Venice being with Lufthansa under some partnering agreement between the 2 Airlines. Early in this flight a Flight Attendant had an accident dropping a very hot coffee into me scalding a large area on my stomach thigh and forearm. The damage done was sufficient to have me taking from the plane on arrival In Venice by ambulance and to the emergency room in the airport for treatment. The crew responded promptly to instructions from me and more significantly my wife who was instructed in dealing with burns and fire safety from childhood by her Late father (a senior firefighter) however none of the flight crew took charge of the situation, as one would have expected. Accidents happen but how you respond to them is a choice. I was horrified when I left the emergency room covered in burn cream, wrapped in bandages and feeling the stress and anxiety that are symptomatic after effects with burns to find my wife burdened with all our luggage and LUFTHANSA nowhere in sight. I have been waiting 8 weeks for a written explanation from Lufthansa of their handling.
