I've been a loyal customer of over 10 years, continuously supporting Malaysia Airlines even through times of turmoil (i.e fatal accidents over the last few years) However today, I have decided THIS UPCOMING FLIGHT WILL BE MY LAST FLIGHT EVER WITH MALAYSIA AIRLINES. Due to travel constraints, under many occasions I have altered my flight time & date without any issues. I could easily manage my booking online or call the hotline for help. Today, I rang to request for a change in flight - extending my flight to ONE DAY LATER. The lady operator insists that I need to pay a penalty fee. I commented that over the last 12 years of flying with Malaysia Airlines, they have never requested for such fee and even so, the representative was happy to waive this fee. I understand the fee is minimal AUD 25- AUD 30 (approx) however, for the amount of monies I have spent (AUD2,000/TICKET and 4-5 tickets/year) which equates to AUD 10,000 / YEAR, it would make sense if you could accommodate to your client by amending the flight date. However, the lady was persistent that a penalty fee had to be paid. Thank you but please note that I will be flying with Singapore Airlines from now on. EDITORS COMMENT: is it possible that perhaps last time you had a flexible ticket and this time you did not?
