The flight from Japan to Shanghai was decent. They clearly do not care about weight allowances as I was well over the limit and the woman just shrugged and sent the bags through. My only gripe was them demanding I need visa to my final destination. After 20 minutes of telling them I am an American and DO NOT need a visa to the country I am headed to they finally agreed but forced me to sign a waiver stating I won't hold them responsible if I am turned away at my final destination. When I got into Shanghai it was a nightmare. Multiple gate changes with no mention of the gate being changed. Flight delayed 30 minutes. Then when boarding the plane it was a mad dash from the shuttle bus to get on the plane. Then come to find out we are now stuck on the plane for 2 hours on the tarmac due to delays. The bathroom was a mess, some random Chinese guy was sleeping across 3 seats in the back. Used snotrags littered the floors as well. Arriving to my final destination was a mad dash to the exits and don't get me started on the lack of concern for baggage. Overall not a great experience.
