China Southern review by Phillip 2015-05-01

Flew business class to UK from Brisbane via Guangzhou (Canton) in March/April this year. Second time we have flown with CS and the experience was pretty much the same. The 'hard product' was all great. Comfortable lie flat bed, decent entertainment package and nice hotel at the airport for the outward bound leg. Service was also pretty good. Staff were friendly and helpful despite some minor communication difficulties. But they persevere when they can't always understand. Well looked after overall. Feel that the product is let down a bit with the food service - but only as my expectations of a flight from Aus to UK might be more 'westernised'. Food choices were limited and quality a bit weak. Plenty of food though, so no chance of going hungry. Particularly as we had the additional food in the airport lounges to supplement this. Limited wine choice and very small glasses - regular refills though. As a bonus, on the return leg we got upgraded to first class for the final flight. Although this was not a massive improvement, it was my first time being offered pyjamas and having my bed made up while I got changed. Very nice. All in all a good trip. Particularly for the price.
