I flew from JFK - BEJ and then BEJ to BKK. They took off late from JFK by a couple hours and it caused me to miss my connecting flight to Thailand which would't be flying out until the next afternoon. There was no communication and when I landed in Beijing I was told to go to a different counter by a new person. It was late at night and finally someone at the desk said there'd be a hotel provided. the hotel was equivalent to a 2 or 3*. I had to pay a surcharge of $25 because I didn't want to to SHARE a room with a STRANGER. Considering I had no bedtime clothes and didn't know anyone, no I didn't want to share. It was crazy that I had to pay. When I arrived in Thailand, also was late by another 3 hours, they lost my luggage. It showed up 3 days later (4 days if you count the overnight in BEJ). The "customer service" number I was given to call for compensation was only available from 9pm - 3am ( sorry who works those hours??) and the line was busy non stop. I enquired about compensation when I departed and eventually was given the equivalent of $30 USD. Gee thanks Air China. Food was bad, Service was okay. Movies were old. Wine is sparse. Definetly avoiding next
