Cathay Pacific review by Claus 2014-01-10

Cathay is a very good airline but has too many old airplanes in service on short and medium haul routes to deserve a top rating. I mostly fly to Singapore and KL and, typically, about half of my flights are in the old cabins - with poor A/V (often not working) and seats and tables that are in very poor condition. Service varies. On some flights the service is excellent - especially compared to the various US airlines, but increasingly the staff seems stressed and "service with a smile" is often absent. Business class service is a different thing but I mostly fly economy.
