I recently travelled to hong kong with friends. I was appalled by the rude and poor service i received from the saa staff. They were completely unwilling to attend to our requests and made us out to be unreasonable, rude and even accused us of being drunk after having one gin and tonic. I believe that cabin crew should be very firm with pssengers who drink too much, but this was not the case at all in this instance. Furthermore, after a delay of one hour at or tambo, they refused to assist us with directions (or just any advice) on catching our next flight connecting to vietnam (for which we now had 35 minutes). The one hostess replied to my query with "hong kong airport staff will have to help you" and walked away. After some more generally poor service and rude responses, the final straw was when a hostess refused to bing my friend a coke, even after he explained that he is on heavy medication and often experiences a drop in sugar levels after taking his meds (he has lupus, for crying out loud). I was ashamed of my national airline and I will never fly it internationally again.
