Flew Melbourne to Singapore then on to Penang. Allowed 2.5 hours between flights. Despite request in Melbourne to book bags through they said they could not as bookings were on 2 different references. We simply booked return flights to Singapore and then a one way to Penang. Same website, same airline, same time. Yet they could not book us through. As the result of a delay of 2 hours, and we had to clear and collect bags in Singapore and missed the connection. They put us on the following flight (next day) and offered no further assistance. Significant cost to stay overnight in Singapore in Grand Prix week! They have also taken some knee room from between seats. I am nearly 2m tall so need every cm and it was clear that seat length and width had been compromised to get more passengers on. Will not be flying with them again. Simply too uncomfortable. Good only for flights up to about 3 hours. EDITORS COMMENT: most low cost carriers don't transfer bags through to other destinations especially if it is not on the one ticket. As for the legroom - that has always been tight and has not changed.
