Travelled Auckland to London via Singapore there and back in December. The direct flight from Auckland to Singapore is a winner but it was on the 777-200 ER and they are really getting very shabby( I flew SQ281 and 282} the entertainment screen is about the size of the IPad mini and impossible to see in daylight. The programme was pretty awful too so I did not miss much as I slept most of the way to Singapore and on the return to Auckland. Do with an up grade on these aircraft SIA. The flight from Singapore to London was pretty good on the more modern 777-300ER and it was great (SQ 308) The return from London to Singapore SQ317 was excellent right up to world standard aircraft and entertainment systems albeit the programme choice was very SIA. Ive flown a lot of times with SIA over the years and they are terrific and do go the extra mile. We had to run the length of terminal 3 At Singapore on the way back as 317 was slightly late... and people thats a long terminal! We just made it for boarding. Did not expect to see our bags in Auckland but hey there they were covered in priority stickers and all first off. too.
