SouthWest just cemented its role as my much-preferred domestic air carrier. A winter storm kept our 30-minute flight from Oakland to Reno from landing... after returning to OAK to refuel we made it on the 2nd attempt. Not SouthWest's fault, and I was grateful they still got us to RNO same day, so when the provided me with an email apology and a free travel voucher via email the next morning, I was delighted. Can anyone imagine United, American or Delta doing that? I expect they'd have deplaned us in OAK, blamed the weather and left us to fight (and pay for) our way over the Sierras. SouthWest is also much easier to book and board, does not charge for flight changes or checked bags, has the best on-time rating, and has more legroom than the legacy carriers. Thanks SouthWest!
