I had a lumber puncture in Sydney the day before I flew Singapore Airlines from Sydney to London. The Hospital wrote that I was fit to fly. On the Sydney Singapore flight I began to feel a severe headache, a side effect that can happen after the procedure. On arrival in Singapore I asked if I could have seats together so I could lie down or upgrade. I offered £1000 for this. I realized as is common after lumber puncture due to CSF being removed, that if i lay flat the pain went away. I discovered I had been allocated a seat with fixed arm rests and people on either side on boarding the plane from Sing. to Ldn. I became very unwell vomiting from pain, begged to lie flat but was only allowed 10 minutes on two occasions to lie on the floor in 14 hours by the rear toilets. There were seats that fully reclined in premium Business and First class available and empty. This Airline treats people in my view, worse than animals. The cabin crew were brusque and compassion less. I was an emergency transfer to A&E the next day. The Airline did a poor investigation after 2 months and offered me "A hamper"! This is NOT a world class Airline. Beware using it for long hauls, I never will again.
