Flight was delayed about two hours. Much of that time we were sitting on the runway with little to no explanation as to the reason for the delay. I would have appreciated updated etas throughout, but we did not even get an updated eta at take off. This made it very difficult to determine when and if to cancel bus tickets/hotel reservations and make new arrangements on the other end. The crew barely checked on the passengers at all throughout the delay, and flight. I was seated next to a very ill passenger and subsequently have become ill. I know these things happen and that is not really the airline's fault but this person was so loudly and visibly ill that he should have been offered medical attention on many occasions throughout the flight. An attentive crew would have offered him help and I think should have offered to allow me to move seats so I would not also become ill. I was never offered that and this unfortunate man was only offered help once and then because he requested something. I know Air Canada has a bad reputation but up until now their performance on flights I have taken has been sufficient. This was terrible. I will never fly Air Canada again if I can help it.
