I had a very disappointing experience flying Delta. For work reasons I did not make my departure flight out of JFK. I called one week prior to cancel my departure flight knowing that I would need to make different travel plans to get to Charleston, SC but need to keep my return flight. When I called Delta the representative stated that in order to cancel my flight I would have to pay a $200 Delta cancellation fee and $50 expedia fee. This would have netted costing me $20 because the two cancellation fees were greater than the value of my one way ticket. As a result I did not show up for my flight. Upon my return flight from Charleston, I had received a notification the morning of my flight that Delta Airlines had canceled my flight. I called Expedia immediately and they explained that my flight was canceled because I had not canceled my original Departure flight. In order to keep my return flight I had to pay Delta $180 plus a $50 expedia cancellation fee. Net cost $230. I had no choice but to pay Delta in order to keep the same reservation since I was traveling home with other family members. Where does Delta get off charging me $230 because I did not make my original
