I could never imagine that this would happen in Europe and within such a well- reputed airline as Lufthansa. My old parents traveled by Lufthansa to Los Angeles with connection in Frankfort. My mother has had several difficult spinal and knee surgeries with screws and my father has different health problems (spinal, heart, diabetes etc.). Both need wheelchair assistance which they always receive. On the return trip (Aug. 2016) they had wheelchair assistance in Los Angeles but in Frankfurt they had to walk out from the aircraft, then they got ride and were dropped off somewhere in the airport and were told that they will be picked up by wheelchairs to text flight. After more than 1 hour someone came and told them that they must walk to the next gathering point which they did despite difficulties. Later on some staff came to gather people but just said that there is NO Wheelchair and you have to walk. They took people who could walk and left my parents behind. My father carried their items and my mother who tried to walk cried in pain all the way so that strangers came to them. They were sick a long time afterwards and still suffer from the injuries. NO responses from Lufthansa.
