I flew Vancouver to Narita in their new "Dreamline" 787 plane. The only good thing about this plane as far as passenger comfort is concerned are the windows, which are large and the passenger can control the level of shading through a bottom. Otherwise: the seats are thinner, less padded, less comfortable and you can feel anytime someone touches the back of your seat to get something from the pocket, or bang the knees, or the feet in the case of a child (which I had to suffer throughout the almost 10 hour flight). The seat hardly reclines: when you think you reached the first level of reclining, you realise this is it! No more reclining! The seat hardly moves back. The food was terrible: the bread was cold, the salad was still frozen with icicles in it, rendering it unedible. The food has always been the most horrible point of Air Canada, to it now they added the seats with the inclusion of a further row inside the airplane and the skinny almost unreclinable seats. This trip made me decide to definitely avoid flying AIr Canada at all cost. The European and Asian airlines are much more of a better opinion. Even though I have an Aeroplan card, it is not worthy it!
