*ALERT to any non-Canadian booking a flight to Canada* Our connecting flight was in Mexico City. This airline refused my husband on, who had his Confirmation of Permanent Residency and a valid passport, as is required by the Government of Canada. However, AeroMexico refused to awknoweldge those are valid documentation for travel. So, they stranded us in Mexico City at 2am - WITH A BABY! I can tell you they extremely unhelpful, smug and just downright awful to deal with. It took us hours to deal with the boarding agents, check-in and luggage personnel. Since we were in Mexico City, we were able to go straight to the Embassy of Canada. They double checked all the documentation and verified that he had what is required to board his flight. They said if AeroMexico had any issues, to call them directly. However, since we booked through WestJet (who refuse to have anything to do with the situation - for another review) we had to rebook through WestJet. AeroMexico was booked solid for A WEEK. The only flight out of Mexico that didn't touch down into the US was out of Cancun and with WestJet. This trip cost us double what it should have and they refuse to take responsibility.
