In all of my years of and many, many experiences flying, I have never been faced with such a totally classless airline as Indigo. I booked a flight with them from Kathmandu to New Delhi and had another flight booked a few hours later from New Delhi to Bangkok--meaning I wouldn't be leaving the airport or going through customs/immigration in Delhi. According to their own website, since I did not have checked baggage and therefore would not need to leave the international terminal/go though immigration/customs, I would not need a visa. That's what the warning message said before I purchased my ticket. However, upon checking-in in Kathmandu, I was told that I would be denied entry onto the plane because I did not have an Indian visa. How is that possible? I have since researched this matter more and confirmed that I did not need a visa for my specific situation. Luckily, I was able to get a Jet Airways flight to New Delhi a few hours later and thus did not miss my flight from Delhi to Bangkok. Jet Airways were MORE than accommodating and I would recommend them 100% (good free food too). But, obviously, I did have to pay for the extra, unexpected Jet Airways flight, which put a huge dent in my budget. I spent a while emailing with a member of Indigo's customer relations team about getting a full refund but they wouldn't refund all of it (just part) and the agent kept regurgitating the same line over and over--"company policy"--without ever really combating any of the numerous points I made as to why I was wrongly denied entry onto the plane. It is clear to me that this misleading company doesn't care at all about their customers and so I will NEVER use them again and I implore you not to either!
