Hi, I used to fly GOL to BH and Ilheus (Bahia). Their service is very basic, since all flights are short, but I cannot complain about their staff. By the way, my Portuguese is so basic, it's embarrassing. Nevertheless, GOL attendants at the airport, during check ins and on the flights were very helpful, many spoke English (though they were shy about it). If you ever get to land in Ilheus, you'd know that it's quite an experience, and yet all landings were immaculate (when you know what to expect straight after the touch down). Yes, GOL is a budget airline, but I felt safe with them.
