Thai Airways International review by Julian 2013-08-18

Thai Airways have always been a good airline & remain one of my favourites, largely because they hold the monopoly on direct flights between Perth & Thailand. However, my recent check-in at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok, was disturbing. Thai Airways strategy of all economy counters being "all flights" resulted in complete mayhem on an early Sunday morning, exacerbated by the distinct lack of check-in staff (40% counters were closed). In the end, I was lucky to reach my flight with just 10mins to spare. Flying the national carrier to/from the country you're visiting is generally good practice but not on this occasion. I only hope this was an exception & not the rule going forward. Thai Airways' in-flight service was fine but ground services in Bangkok need serious improvement.
