Spirit Airlines review by Chris 2016-04-22

We chose Spirit Airlines due to the lower ticket price. It was after we had already purchased our tickets when we read all of the negative reviews. I was even a little concerned about safety thinking we might have a mediocre flight crew. We took a chance. We followed all of the directions on the Spirit website so that we wouldn't be charged extra for anything. Print your boarding passes in advance and get a bag that fits in the personal item dimension (16 x 14 x 12 inches). You can get a surprising amount of stuff inside that dimension. Having done those two things we left the rest to fate and to our pleasant surprise all went smoothly. The seats don't recline but are adequate. The flight attendants were polite, attentive and even funny. On out two hour flight from Portland, OR to Vegas we were offered cocktail service with a decent variety. We had water bottles that we had purchased at one of the gate stores so we were good. We departed on time and made it to our destination slightly early with no issues. Our return flight 3 days later was 30 minutes delayed but other than that was just as pleasant. Were we just lucky? We would fly with Spirit again. EDITORS COMMENT: You weren't lucky you just chose to abide by the rules and therefore got a cheap and easy flight. Anyone that complains about baggage charges etc is choosing to ignore the rules on the website which are clearly stated - we know - we tested the booking process.
