In January 2016, I was part of group that volunteered to get off the flight to JFK fro J'Burg, in order to reduce the weight. We were promised many things, but in particular a FREE return ticket on South African Airlines. I just tried to book that flight and I was told the flight was free but I had to pay the taxes. So I asked what the taxes were. Answer $600 USD. That is half the value of the FREE ticket. Emirates Air is half the price of SA Air. Check it out.
