We were recently married 19th November and given a very special gift flying to Bali for a week. Part of this trip was flat beds but we had to go to Kuala Lumpur, waited for few hours, then onto Bali. . . To and from. The trips were during the night. The way over was awesome especially for our bad backs. The trip home was horrible! With about 8 men sharing our space that decided partying after midnight was the thing to do. They were loud and arrogant, standing up eating, skulling multiple bottles of wine, chatting almost themselves in their own language with little to no consideration to my husband and I or the other couple of people present. Staff continued to serve alcohol even though they’d been asked to take their seats and to keep the noise down. We could even hear them over our earphones. Finally they settled and went to sleep aided by the amount of alcohol they’d consumed but unfortunately by this stage we were unsettled, tired and upset. What should have been an awesome experience for us turned out to be horrible knowing that the flat bed experience was our first and probably our last. . . And the fact it was our honeymoon left us feeling extremely disappointed.

I found the customer service both on and off the aircraft to be better than competing budget airlines. But the inflight entertainment is poor. I know it’s a little thing but if you’re a nervous flier like me you rely on the entertainment to distract you. 4 episodes of nineties hit show Friends and four movies no one would ever choose to watch doesn’t really cut it these days. I know it’s a budget carrier but i paid the extra money and I was expecting something far better.

    EDITORS COMMENT: Great feedback!

Worst airline for service. Travelling Mum Dad & children 7, 5 & 3.
Arrived at check in at Perth and found out that flight from KL to Phuket cancelled and so 16 hr layover. No email – even though had daily emails spruiking upgrades etc.
Told to ask at Airasia desk in Kl for possible accommodation or food vouchers. Got to KL – Airasia not interested.
Flight from Phuket to KL 3 year old and 5 year old seated row 21 – Mum & Dad seated row 45. (though we changed on-board obviously).
Got onto plane in KL all seated together row 14. After 20 minutes all children now sleeping, were told we could not sit there because it is a quiet zone and children are not allowed. My reaction was not pretty and had it been an American airline I probably would have been shot.
Airasia say that seats are automatically allocated and seats need to be pre booked to ensure getting seats together. I thought this what checking in is for. We have flown with dozens of times and have always been seated together due to young children. Obviously they must use an algorithm which can distinguish a family booked together and allocate seats accordingly. Pre booking seats – same cost as airfare!!
