    Travelled with Avianca before, between Lima to London (via Bogota). They were ok and we enjoyed the generous 2x23kg bagguage allowance per passenger.
    But if there is any problem – your stuffed !!! All customer service calls go to a call centre in El Salvador. There is NO WAY to deal with anywhere else regarding bookings.
    Our situation: (£1730 ticket) I’m in London. My wife and 4 year old daughter were returning to London from Lima, Peru. Peru Immigration refused then access to the plane as my wife didnt have a legal letter from me , authorising her to take our daughter out of Peru . We had never heard of this before (I bought the ticket, and Peru immigration had record of me leaving peru for london months earlier). So my wife wasnt stealing our daughter from me in peru. but thats by the by, our fault for not knowing.
    Avianca- we tried changing the date to leave with the call centre. they wanted £648 extra. Breakdown of charges made no sense.”uk airport taxes not paid, that part was £238 ?? Said i’d consult wife. Next day i called now £973:30 extra. They have notes on me so I’m not getting anywhere. each time i call, dIfferent price. My onlineagent is powerless. Problems !!!
