The spectacular rise of Vietjet Air

Vietjet Air has grown in size more than most predicted benefiting not only the tourism but the business sector in the region. 

First launched in December 2011, it was the first private airline in Vietnam to offer domestic and international services. The airline has carried more than 80 million happy passengers to date and covered over 116 routes across Asia Pacific region as of June 2019. 

Vietjet has been awarded the highest ranking for safety with 7-stars since 2018. It is a fully-fledged member of International Air Transport Association (IATA) with the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate and technical reliability rate standing at 99.64%.

And in 2019 Vietjet Air again took out the Airlineratings.com Best Ultra Low-Cost Airline for 2019, a second year in a row thanks to its wonderful cabin crew and ultra-low prices. 

The airline’s multinational the cabin crew take safety seriously focusing on seat belts and exits being kept clear. 

Vietjet Air operates a fleet of A320s in a 3-3 configuration with black leather seats. The airline distinguishes itself with a good combination of affordable ticket fares, which are suitable to the mass flyers plus diversified services and personalized options for busy and highly-demanded passengers from all walk of life. Skyboss service is one of themwhich offers its flyers with priority check-in, private boarding/disembarkation, 30-kg check-in luggage, free golf kit handling, VIP lounge and free flow of foods and beverages served onboard, etc. 

 

 Also, for a small fee, you can select quiet seats up the front or exit rows. Also, windows and aisle seats attract a small premium.  

Blankets, pillows, gifts, and gimmicks can be purchased on board. 

Currently, the airline operates a route network covering destinations nation-wide and more than 40 regional destinations in Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, China, Japan, Hong KongMyanmar, Cambodia and Indonesia. It is operating a fleet of A320s and A321s with an average age of 3.3 years old.

The airline was named as one of the Top 500 Brands in Asia 2016-2017 and “The Best Asian Low Cost Carrier” at the TTG Travel Awards 2015, “The most favourite carrier in Vietnam” by the Economic Times. The carrier was also awarded “Vietnam’s best place to work” in consecutive years and “the Best Employer Brand Asia Awards 2016” 

Vietjet is also famous for its nice surprises onboard and offboard through signature activities like flashmob, passengers’ wedding/proposal, lucky draw, birthday celebrations, etc. 

 

Vietjet mascot Amy kicked off a summer parade in Bali, Indonesia, marking the airline’s opening of its first and only direct route between Vietnam and Bali in May 2019. 

 

As a new-age carrier, Vietjet has diversity in their in-flight menu. In-flight menu includes special nine hot meals from top Asian specialties such as Thai Fried Rice, Singaporean Noodles, Malaysian Nasi Lemak, Crab & Shrimp Glass Noodles, other world-famous dishes like Beef Bolognese Spaghetti, Beef Rice etc. and especially Vietnamese traditional dishes including Banh Mi (Vietnamese Baguette), Steamed Sticky Rice and Sticky Rice Cake.
