    This was my first time flying with Westjet, and I am honestly disappointed. I will try to write this from the most objective pov. First, they lost my luggage. I was flying from Vancouver to Toronto, but my luggage went to Halifax for no reason. The name and plane seat of my checked luggage was also wrong, very wrong. I would not call that a typo. Second, after I got my luggage back, my brand new luggage lost a wheel! The wheel was not broke, it was completely gone. How would you feel if it was you? Third, when I ask for compensation, the Westject agent’s customer service was really horrible, they never tell me the full information until I ask. Fourth, I was told by the agent that I will receive an email after 5 minutes. But after 1 hour, I still not have received anything from Westjet. When I phone them up, the staff told me they could not even find the file under my name, and then my account does not exist. Great job, Westjet. In summary, they lost my luggage first, broke my luggage afterward, and when asked for compensation, it was agreed verbally without any action follow. I don’t know how airline companies work, but Westjet was not able to fulfill a single “responsibility” for my case. This is how I felt. The above case happened on January 4th, 2019.

    I flew three flights with WestJet and I was amazed with the service! Our flights were early, staff was friendly and the entire experience was amazing! The first two flights were on the mainline WestJet but the third flight was with WestJet Link, from Calgary to Medicine Hat, Alberta and we were given pretzels and water, on a 40 minute flight! Air Canada Express also operates this service but it is absolutely horrible! Keep going WestJet!

    For me safety is number one. I chose west Jet because of their safety record.Flights were on time and no hassle with luggage. Food was nothing special , but I did not choose them for the food. There was no in-flight entertainment which for me is not a biggy, as long as I get to and from my destination safely,its all good..i will continue to use west jet as long as safety standards are always met..

    Incredibly shocking customer service when things go wrong. Our flight to Florida from St. John’s was cancelled 4 hours prior to departure. We were rebooked on a new flight scheduled to leave 2 days later. Of course, this created huge headaches for cancelled hotels and car bookings… none of which would offer refunds due to me cancelling the day off. The flight was cancelled due to mechanical issues. I spent hours on the phone waiting to speak with various agents (each time with wait times up to 30 minutes)… to no avail. Westjet offered me absolutely no recourse and essentially took the attitude that these things happen… too bad. As I write this review, I am already $1,100 out for cancelled hotels and cars, plus I have lost 2 days of a 7 day vacation… I am not sure how you value that. Unfortunately for Westjet… they failed at the passengers time of greatest need. If you even want to feel alone, frustrated and helpless… try being a stranded Westjet passenger… where you are truly just a number…

    I booked a flight with West Jet for my daughter, and it was a complete disaster. They have offered no compensation notwithstanding that the flight was cancelled without warning, and notwithstanding that they refused to allow my daughter to board the flight on which they rebooked her. The cancellation and rebooking was not her fault, and she was forced to stay overnight in Toronto to await the next scheduled West Jet flight leaving at 9 am the next morning. I understand that delays and cancellations are part of travel, but a complete failure to offer any compensation in these circumstances is completely unforgiveable. I will not be travelling on West Jet unless I am completely desperate.
