I flew with Thai Airways from Bangkok to London Heathrow by Boeing 747-400 (Aircraft registration: HS-TGY) on 30th December 2014.

Flight attendants were attentive, professional yet friendly, and services were impeccable.

Meal was served shortly after the plane took off, with two choices of mai course, bread, salad, dessert and an array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The crew made a walk passed through the cabin with soft drinks, water and snack. Breakfast was served two hours before the plane landed. Again, with two choices of hot breakfast, yogurt, fruit and drinks.

In-flight Entertainment was great. The user friendly interface made it easy to interact and navigate. Thai offered a decent choices of movies and music. There are quite a number of TV programmes and games. However, Thai movies, TV programmes and music were way too few. Plus, you may access to flight information; for example, in-flight cuisine, flight map or airport and destination information.

The seat was comfortable with 32-inch seat pitch. But, I sat on the emergency exits row so I got a spacious legroom.

Lavatory was clean as the crew regularly cleaned it up.

My overall experience with Thai was superb. I will recommend Thai Airways to everyone and I will surely fly with Thai again.

I flew from Auckland New Zealand to Bangkok on dec 31 2014. The flight was comfortable, the crew was very nice, and the food was the best I have eaten on a plane by far (veg octo lavo).

Flew Perth – Bangkok 787, Bangkok – Taipei A330, Taipei – Seoul A330, Seoul – Taipei – Bangkok A330, Bangkok – Perth 787. Excellent service fro beginning to end on all flights. Staff are friendly, helpful and very efficient. In-flight entertainment and meals were very good and economy class on Thai probably the best I have flown. Can’t say I agree with all the hype of the 787 as I found the A330 more comfortable, especially with only 2 abreast seating on the sides and quieter and the landings much softer and smoother. Seats on the 787 were comfortable though but I actually found it noisier than the A330. Cannot fault Thai’s service, value or quality they are an excellent airline.

    Perth-Bangkok Boeing 787 Dreamliner .
One of the more comfortable economy class seats I have had in recent years.
Good back support. No sore back at the end of the journey.
A main meal served shortly after take off which was outstanding. The in flight entertainment was excellent with crystal clear screens and sound. I was lucky to have an exit row seat which provided in limited legroom, so very comfortable. My fellow travellers commented that the leg room in the “normal” seats was good and the footrest was most welcome. One curious feature of the IFE was the headset plugged into the seat in front as was the remote control. This would be most inconvenient for the person in the aisle seat as you need to unplug every time the people sitting next to you wished to leave their seat. There is a lot of hype about the Dreamliner is it warranted? On boarding it is not much different to any other aircraft. Certainly looks and feels spacious the over head lockers are huge. Once airborne there is a big difference. Much quieter, smoother, the air seems fresher, on disembarking you don’t have that dried out feeling. The lighting is much kinder to the eyes. The windows are considerably larger and feature electronic dimming enabling the passenger to see without the glare. Shortly before arrival we were served ice cream.
During the flight the crew made ablest 4 passes through the cabin with soft drinks and water. Thai lived up to expectations as did the aircraft.
