I was twice in an overbooked flight – my actual flight and the second they put in me in – could not board in both. Bad experience, had to wait 7 hours get a hotel voucher, and swiss did not pay for taxi or food.

I had a horrible experience with Swiss Air. Our flight departing from JFK to Zurich. Our flight into JFK was delayed by 5 hours (not Swiss’s fault) and we had only an hour to catch our flight to Zurich. Upon checking in, I was informed that I could not travel to Switzerland because my passport expired within 3 months of the date we were returning. This is apparently a federal thing if you are not aware, so update your passport. Swiss not only refused me carriage, but the woman checking my wife and I in actually laughed at us. She told us we were the third party that day she had refused passage to due to this exact issue, and apparently this amused her. My wife, overstressed from the long delay, broke into tears, and the agent said verbatim, “I don’t see what the issue is, you just have to change your flight by one day.”
The issue is I had to pay $350 to change my flight. This is after giving my passport information to Swiss both when we bought the ticket and when we checked in 24 hours before our flight and no red flags were raised. Awful Service and rude staff for a mediocre flight with less than average leg room. I will never fly Swiss again.

I travelled in Swiss Business Class on 28th May 2017 while my wife and a 2 year child were travelling in Economy Class just a few seats away from me. Now one would wonder why this arrangement; but this is how it was for some reasons. Now my 2 year old wanted to meet me and my wife walked upto my seat together with the 2 year old and left him with me for a few minutes and went back. The 2 year old was quietly sitting with me on my lap and watching the TV, sipping my apple juice and munching a few nuts offered by the airline. After a few minutes the airline crew chief Claudia Treicher walks over to me and gives me a long lecture on mannerisms and said this is not how “WE” do it. God knows what she meant by “WE” as if I am from a different planet. I was trying to guess the definition of WE during the whole flight – it might be the SWISS people!! She ends the conversation saying that it is her decision that the child should return to the Economy Class. Is this the way that they are supposed to speak to their customers and annoy them. She could have done the whole communication differently in a simple sweet sentence requesting me rather than a long lecture on mannerisms.

A very bad experience with my connection between Zurich & Lisbon- having just arrived from Beijing in early April17, my connection was only 30 mins, so I missed my flight to Lisbon on a Friday, 12pm, with only to get a connection on Saturday 16:30 from Zurich, Geneva then Lisbon. Swiss Air could have waited for me not to miss the Friday 12pm , connection after having been on a long haul flight from Sydney , Australia…Will not book with Swiss Air ever…
