Dirty seats. Entertainment system is old. Once the seat in front of you is pushed back it’s hard to see the screen properly. Using the system is a pain as the buttons don’t respond well (no touch screen). Food very mediocre. Staff cold. Waste of money. Seats uncomfortable and old. Not fun for a 12 hour flight.

I think Swiss Airlines is the worst airline I’ve ever dealt with. First when I flew from Delhi to Zurich, they had only 3 working toilets, with no water available in one. The aircraft obviously lacks leg space for long haul flights. On my way back, flight from Palma de Mallorca to Zurich was delayed by almost one and a half hour, and there were no announcements or information for the reason of delay and connecting flights. Bcoz of this delay, I missed my flight from Zurich to Delhi. On landing in Zurich, there was no assistance from airport staff, and again, no information if connecting flight had left. The next flight that I was offered was also delayed and I had to stay overnight in Zurich. I found Swiss airlines as well as hotel staff quite unfriendly, indifferent and unconcerned in their attitude. They offer coupons limited to 20 CHF for meals and breakfast was also inadequate, and the way they offer breakfast, is quite humiliating. The airline is inefficient in its working, behaviour and correspondence. Won’t recommend this airline to anyone, and will not book myself in future with this airline.

Poor service in Bangkok for transit customers and hopeless with small children – even in Business class; we travelled Business Class from Sydney-Bangkok-Zurich-London on a Swiss ticket (TG to Bangkok) Swiss do not arrange transit accommodation in Bangkok or lounge access for long transits, their office only opens three hours before the flight to get a boarding pass to get in the lounge, so you are ‘on your own’ with no baggage and have to arrange your own hotel and visa. (my wife needed to pay for visa on arrival)

On both Swiss legs they failed to give a bassinet for our two month old baby, 14 hours of flights in total.

The crew tried of the first flight tried their best to help and messaged Zurih to ensure the second flight would have a bassinet but there was still no bassinet. Our babies ticket was almost USD$1000 so we expected something for the $$$. Very disappointing, though the crew tried, clearly the systems don’t work.

Contacted customer service and no response for three weeks and counting.

Horrible customer service at the Athens airport customer service centre for Swiss Airlines. We originally paid to have our seats selected in advance, but when we checked in today, our seats were changed to a different number and letter. To correct THEIR mistake we had to stand in line for AN HOUR at the customer service counter to ask about this discrepancy. First the person behind the counter completely ignored us while serving the people who came after us. Then there were two girls who had absolutely no manner just bypassed us to stand in front of us. When it was finally our turn to speak to the person, she again ignored us as if we didn’t exist and spoke to the two girls who came after us. It’s amazing how she could completely ignore someone standing in front of her to serve other people. We got no acknowledgement whatsoever throughout all this time and I’ve never felt so disrespected all my life. She had absolutely no respect for people who patiently wait in line and just decided to serve people randomly. This would have never happened in Canada. I’m very disappointed at their service at the Athens international airport. This will be my first and last time travelling with SIA.

EDITORS COMMENT: It’s rare that the airport staff are employed by the airline. Most check in staff/airport staff are employed by agencies such as swissport or menzies to name a few so it is out of the airline’s control.

Those with kids, especially little ones do NOT fly swissair. After our experience on Lufthansa going so well we expected a similar experience and we could not have been more wrong! The staff was unbelievably rude and unhelpful. Even trying to reserve seats before our flight was a nightmare! We never ended up being able to because no matter what time of day we called we were left on hold or hung up on and they refused to help me when I emailed. There was only one couple sitting at the bassinet seats who even had a child and we were stuck holding our daughter in our lap for almost 9 hours which would have been perfectly fine with us if the staff had even resembled helpful. It took us, zero exaggeration, two hours for them to get us a cup of ice, no matter how many times we asked, one lady who my husband asked who we found out later worked in first class literally walked by my husband and flicked her hand at him like she was shooing him away and didn’t say a word. Every interaction we had with them was rude and unhelpful I don’t even have enough characters to describe it all. I was on the verge of tears as we left. Then they lost my husbands luggage. DONT FLY SWISS!
