Sunwing should never be booked out of Buffalo. In addition to changing flight times often they don’t even list Buffalo as a departure city on their tracking site.

This was our second time using Sunwing. Last year our 7:30 a.m. Flight was delayed 4 hours and since we were told to arrive 3 ours in advance, we were already at the airport when the notification was sent. This year we went to Mexico. There were 3 families traveling together with 2 people in wheelchairs. Even though we booked months in advance specifically asking for 2 handicap rooms and one connecting room, we only received one handicap room and all of us were put in different buildings on the resort. Although I know that room designation is the responsibility of the resort, I feel that Sunwing should have had knowledge of the number of handicap rooms that were available. On our return flight which was 10:30 p.m. Saturday, we were told at 6:30 p.m., the flight was delayed until 5:30 a.m. Sunday. At 1:00 a.m. On Sunday we were told that our flight had been delayed again until 2:15 p.m. On Sunday when talking to the flight attendant, we were told that Sunwing knew Saturday morning that the flight would be delayed because one of the flight crew had a medical emergency. Why they didn’t notify us sooner is stil unclear to me.

I will likely try to avoid flying with Sunwing again if possible. I know they do many of the all-inclusive vacations but Id try Westjet next time. Our flight to Varadero was 3 hours delayed because of a battery that needed to be replaced. They changed our gate number 3 times so I had a bad feeling about it before we even boarded. We boarded quite late and then sat on the tarmac for half an hour at least, finally left the gate only to return to the gate after sitting a while. Then we had to unload everyone including all our belongings and wait in the airport for an hour. Finally, everyone got loaded back on and situated and we took off at the time we were supposed to be in Cuba already. It was my first time flying with Sunwing and my first time to an all-inclusive and since I was only going to be there 5 days I was disappointed about losing half a day because by the time we arrived it was close to 3pm. Obviously these things happen with planes and naturally safety first of course but I overheard many other Sunwing planes having technical issues as well.
Overall, I just found the planes to be dated and slightly uncomfortable.

My flight from YUL to CUN had decent staff. It was a few minutes late departing but no one cared. The YUL check in staff were great as well. Very friendly.
I almost was going to say Sunwng wasn’t so bad after all. But…..
Then the return from CUN to YUL. Very rude check in staff at CUN. The agent wanted to serve more then 3 diffrent pax at once. Calling us up together. After someone else screamed at us to make sure we were Elite Plus (we were)
Due to some mechical Issue the flight was several hours late with very bad even miserable communications from the Sunwing staff at CUN about what was going on.
Staff at CUN were simply miles apart in difference in the way they treated Customers. Hope Sunwing takes note of this.
