Actually stuck on a plane with a technical problem for 2 hours now.
Cab in crew even did not propose a single glass of water, went at the back were I have finally got one. Nothing to eat (except the meal but of course its not possible to get one… Even if you are nearly going to collapse). Not even a little snack on a 12hours flight. Its just a joke. Even in a low cost plane you can eventually buy at least something. Cabin crew are unkind as possible and Im sorry for the.pilot who try to keep us inform but its really expensive for the service
Not to talk about flight untertainment which during this 2:15 was totally off. By the way ee still in the plane, finally got a glass of water….. And just now we have to change aircraft, 1 more hour to wait

South African Airways is the Worst airline that i have ever experienced. This is my first time & most likely last time traveling with SAA.
Their customer service is extremely poor. They probably don’t know what is customer service is all about.
Their staff is lazy, doesn’t have passion & empathy for passengers who have 12 hours stopover and they donot offer hotel accommodation or meals vouchers. They donot honor their Star Alliance Members’s lounge membership.
Meals on flights are horrible. Planes are old & broken.
Their flight fare was expensive & donot offer basic service.
If you have option, please don’t ever travel with SAA.

This has been one of the most inefficient, disorganized, screwed up flights I have ever been on. The aircraft are very old and constantly in need of maintenance which reflects in their regular delays. On top of that their customer service was appalling. I would never recommend using this airline.

I flew SAA from Johannesburg to New York with family. There were 10 of us and we chose the direct route. Honestly, I would have flown via Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha or any other airline to get to NY. SAA is shocking. The quality of the seats are bad, the pockets at the seat are no even cleaned properly. Food choice was chicken or beef. Barely edible. There are no menus, they annouce the choice over their PAA system. Feels like you were flying a rustic airline. TV screens were blurred.I asked for coffee, I was told I could not have any as the staff were busy. Staff sleeps at the back 2 rows of economy class. Late night snacks were oreos or a cold cheese sandwich. Breakfast was awful, also cold and hard croissants and eggs. Yuck!!! Food is disgusting. Staff are old, unfriendly & not helpful at all. You cannot stretch your legs or stand and have a coffee at the galleys as it is against company policy. Ridiculous!!! On such a long flight, people can walk around, stretch their legs etc. Choice of movies were old and limited. Unfortunately for us, having flown other reputable and excellent airlines, this was a complete shock to the system. Will never fly SAA again!

SAA air by far and away the worst airline I have ever been on. The planes are in terrible condition. We traveled with a few other families return. At least 5 screens didn’t work. My folks where in Business Class and they put the wrong head phone on the plane. They know they are the only airline doing this route and it shows with the old planes and miserable hosties. Qantas you have a slam dunk winner if you start from Perth.
