Singapore – Phuket A320 Bright clean aircraft, very friendly crew, meal was of high quality, the only let down on the flight was no sound for the entertainment system, but only being a short flight it was not a major problem, would fly SilkAir again not a problem.

Travelled with this airline from Shenzhen to Singapore and full satisfaction… Way better than the PRC ones (like the route from CKG to SHZ was a nightmare with Shenzhen Air…).
It was the smoothest landing ever, same or higher category than Finnair.
(Had ~12 flights within 3 weeks in the whole Pacific area and this one is surely in the top 3, if not the 1st of all class experiences.)

Silk Air is Singapore’s regional /budget carrier and flies lots of short hops across Asia. On this occasion I was flying the shuttle service from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. A 45 minute flight. Silk Air is not fancy but does the job and ticks all the boxes. The airfare was not expensive and I was not charged extra for checking in two bags. The flight actually left 15 minutes early which is very unusual and was a pleasant surprise. The plane itself was an A320 with a single aisle and three seats on either side. Silk Air’s typical configuration. Despite the short flying time the efficient cabin crew were still able to serve beverages. Their cabin crew are young but very presentable and efficient. A pleasant flight.

Silk air A320 aircraft:
Phuket airport is a rather dull place and for whatever reason, the last flight out of Phuket is usually delayed. We had a 3 hour delay but our driver collected us and took us to a spa for a couple of hours. If delayed, the JW Marriott every evening at 5pm has a Thai dancing show in their fountain. The hotel is only 10 minutes away from the airport and the show is free (it is in the lobby so you just sit there)
Flight itself was fine apart from the late departure. Silkair prides itself as “boutique” though I see nothing boutique about it and it represents poor value for such a short sector compared to MAS/Jetstar
