Malaysia Airlines

Flew MEL-KUL return on MH146 and MH147 on A333. First time flown, was not disappointed with anything major apart from the fact that the return flight was delayed for about an hour. The food was fine. The entertainment system was okay apart from the slightly slow speed, but I kind of expected it. I liked how there was an online option for reading the inflight magazine, which was very detailed. I wouldn’t hesitate about booking with MH again.

My young daughter and I made 9 trips on Malaysian airlines since 2012 till 2015. Most of these trips were ok, but one was a trip direct from hell. No more Malaysian airlines for us from now. In this trip my Itenerary was Melnourne-Kuala Lumpur – hyderabad and back same route. The first flight in Melbourne was delayed and we were given vouchers for airport restaurants. After hours of delay we reached kaulalumpur. We missed connecting Malaysian flight. They took 5 hours to send us to a hotel. This hotel was horrible and smelly and never in my life I stayed in something so bad. And it was 60 minutes away from airport. We are vegans and there was no vegetarian food available in the hotel. At least 4 more of my co passengers and I, along with my young daughter suffered hunger pangs like anything for more than 36 hours. There was no one to listen to our suffering and almost 20 of us felt like we were stranded in a helpless place. Once we boarded the flight next day we were ravenous for the airline food. That made me decide Never Malaysian airlines again. I didn’t know what our rights were. The airline chose to send us far off so we had to even spend an hour for visa. Why all this???

I’m a regular business class traveler. Traveled with MH from HK to Kuching on business class.

* Plane was a 737-800.
* Seat wise acceptable, with IFE.
* As I was travelling from Hong Kong, I used the Cathay lounge instead. I used the golden lounge at BKI airport when I was in BKI waiting for next connecting flight, the golden lounge was unfriendly. The greeting staff was extremely unfriendly. No alcohol is offered with normal fare buffet like few curry, some not very attractive sandwich etc.
* Business class was unappealing, among seated the FA did not come and greet me by my name.
* The seat was not cleaned throughout with plastic bags scattered all over the place.
* Proper newspaper was not provided.
* Proper menu was not provided.
* FA came and to collect order without proper mentioning of what was available.
* Usually hot towel was provided, cold towel was provided instead.
* Pay attention to details was largely missing, eg, packaged butter was used instead.
* FA was friendly but lack of their enthusiasm about their job.
* This is not a proper business class, its more like premium economy.

I’ve flown with MAS many times over the years, mostly long haul KUL-LHR. Over the years I’ve seen the service get worse and worse as more and more cut backs are made. The only reason I fly with them now, after MH370 and MH17, is that they are SO CHEAP compared to other airlines.
The food is OK but no where near as good as it used to be. On my flights it is always fish or chicken. The snacks have definitely been cut back and some crew members are reluctant to give them out. Alcohol is available on the flights but only wine and beer are offered – if you want spirits – ask. They have them and they serve them if you ask.

Malaysia Airlines is great. My first time ever aboard an airlines with full of happiness. When I step into the aircraft, the MAS cabin crew was just smile with full of passion. The entertainment system inside was also great. Fulfill with latest movie and song. But unfortunately, i can’t found any games on it. Because I am aboard a short-haul flight, so the snack been provided. The food I get is two packet of peanut and a cup of fresh orange juice. The aircraft I aboard is Malaysia Airlines Boeing 737-800. The seat was spacious and comfortable. With lighting effect, I feel so relax. Even though, it is just a 45 minutes ride, but i will always support Malaysia Airlines.
