Flew KL-LHR. Flight was quite full, mostly with passengers transiting from Australia. The cut backs in the catering mean the food is nowhere near as good as it used to be. The starter on one meal was a bowl of dry plain couscous! O the next meal it was a few bits of apple in dressing, then there was a few bits of fruit for desert. As usual you have to ask for alcoholic drinks, they don’t offer them apart from wine. The snacks are dreadful, just biscuits (made in Thailand), no savoury stuff. I asked for snacks before the allotted time and was told to wait.
The games control on my seat had a broken knob so I couldn’t play any games.
At least the flight was cheap!

I have Traveled extensively in Asia, to Europe and Australia in the last 15 years. Malaysia have been my preferred choice in Long and Short haul routes. I have always found the cabin staff courteous and helpful.
Aircraft and entertainment have improved a lot; however food choice is not so good now and quality inconsistent. To be fair it is a budget airline in all but mame.
The upgrade to 30KG luggage and special deals makes flying Malaysia a better deal than the Low cost carriers like Jet Star and Air Asia which I have used a lot too.

I am a frequent business traveller, travels with MH on DXB – KUL leg mostly. Even though I find the attention given by the crews is on the brink of unauthentic, I find the journey itself is commendable. Forget about the food because you know how atrocious is the sky food can be (exception for the satay and the peanut sauce – those are amazing!), but all in all, I can’t point out the major fault at all.

It is interesting to see most of the dissatisfactions come from Australian passengers. Perhaps the service expectation from them is too high, and a little hiccup leads to a major letdown.

Just returned from holiday to Thailand flying out from London to KL and on to Krabi. First time with MA. Both flights were late but that was the least of the problems! MA seem pretty good at losing things (other than actual planes). We arrived in Krabi on Saturday 28th Feb – our luggage arrived late on Sunday 1st Mar. Several other passengers on the flight, and the following flight that afternoon, suffered the same problem. Coming home we flew from Koh Samui to KL and then on to London – again both flights were delayed. This time however there was a 50% improvement, they managed to deliver us and 1 of our 2 cases at the same time and in the same place – well done MA! Again there were around 20 other passengers who had delayed baggage. Seriously, what kind of an outfit manages to mislay a passenger’s cases twice on the same trip? Reading other reviews the problem seems to be with baggage handling in KL – embarassing as that’s their “home” airport. Absolute shower. I shall never fly with this joke of an airline again.

Malaysian Airlines is the worst airline to fly; no concept of service despite being a repeated business class traveler (1-2 times a month between Sydney and KL/SEA). You will not hear back on any written complaints submitted. Last week, the airline delivered my luggage after 3 days from a flight back to Sydney from KL, during which time, any ability to discuss my situation with Malaysian was non-existent. When I called the contact center in Kuala Lumpur (they don’t have any local contact and the one listed on the website doesn’t work), my call was disconnected and never heard back. My on-line submission and email are yet to be responded to after a week.

Wouldn’t fly again despite being a OneWorld Platinum/Emerald. Hopefully, the new CEO is able to change the apathy that is rampant. It is no surprise that the airlines is struggling. Shocking.
