We flew with Korean Air to Germany and the UK this month. We have 2 young children. KE were fantastic. Staff were very helpful and kind. Water and drinks is brought around regularly. We were able to order specific meals for the children (prior to the flight I called them to order children’s meals and was asked to select specific meals from a range of options). The hotel in Seoul where we were overnight awaiting our connecting flight to Frankfurt was 5 star. We flew economy and there is much more leg room between seats than on the Western airlines. We travel internationally a lot and were really impressed with Korean.

I fly every other month all over the planet. This is the worst Asian airline I could ever flown. Customer service is inexistent. There is a preference for Korean passengers over any other ones. Business seat are small, not fully 180 degrees reclinable and lacking any other amenities (decent pillow, comforter, etc.). The entertaining system is only good if you want to know your fly path, but the selection of movies is terribly old. Food, besides being mediocre for a business class, is 90% Korean. Beverages are average and limited. Female cabin crew have an annoying voice, impossible to understand in English and clearly not there for foreigners or willing to accommodate anything you ask for. Be aware that if you, like in my case a Dimond Elite 360 Delta Skymiles member, or have an account with any Skyteam partner airline, you will not accrue elite qualifying miles, bonus miles, or extras. Korean just gives you base flown miles! There is no whatsoever recognition for your elite status with other Skymiles partner airline. The business lounge at Incheon is awful. It is more like being in an open street bazar, fifthly, smelly and lacking any basic services. Avoid this airline at all cos

Disgusting. I had to cancel a flight, 15 days before I flew due to my other needing herat surgery. This airline charged a $200 CANCELLATION FEE on a $570 flight, and their customer service was filth.

EDITORS COMMENT: Every airline would charge a cancellation fee unless you had paid for a more expensive flexible fare ticket at the start.

We choose to flew with KE over PAL from YYZ to MNL. We found to have made the right decision this time. The staff are courteous and very accomodating. Staff are around all the time with the smile in their face, so you don’t have to push the button if you need something. They made time to explain & encourage us to try with the smile what the “korean food” made of in their menu. Also drinks are plenty to choose from including wine. Overall experience was pleasant considering the duration of 14 hours flight.

I haven’t even gotten to the check in counter and I am pissed off with KE. Their online res stinks. I never got a single email from them confirming my flight. I had to pour through the choices and I finally found where I could request an eticket email. I did. Half an hour later an email shows up that tells me I have to agree to something that’s half a mile long before I can get to the page where my eticket lives. So I did. Then, I have to print the eticket OR Korean Air can refuse to give me a boarding pass. I don’t happen to have a printer here. Then I am told that I have to fill out yet another form when I get to the ticket counter-some cockamamie credit card authorization form–never mind that my credit card has already been verified by B of A. Then–try to find an email address to get to customer service to express my displeasure. Good luck. Nope–not gonna do this again.
