I flew from Chicago to Amsterdam with a 1 hour layover in Iceland.
I flew with my wedding dress as a carry on and a carry on bag. When the staff arrived, 30 minutes late which caused our flight to be 30 minutes late, they allowed me to store it in the first class closet.
However, they informed all passengers that carry on bags needed to be checked due to lack of overhead space. (I ended up having an entire overhead bin to myself)

We arrive in Iceland late and I cut through all of first class to grab my dress to make it through passport control barely in time to make my flight. They again allow me to store my dress in the first class closet.

When I arrived in Amsterdam, I waited nearly an hour for my bags. Myself along with maybe 15-20 passengers bags’ were missing.

I filed a report and they initially stated the bags would arrive that evening and be delivered the following day. They arrived the next day and didn’t come to my house until the following day.

Now because I had to check my carry on bag last minute, I didn’t take ALL of my valuables out. I forgot my nearly $200 wedding earrings.

    They were gone upon arrival.
Highly disappointed & wont fly again.

Do NOT fly Icelandair. I bought return tickets for my daughter and I back in March for an August trip. Then she was unable to go. IcelandAir would NOT allow me to cancel for a refund OR bring someone else instead. I paid $1200 (CAD) and they said “You lose it all.” After arguing, they said they’d give me $119 back. They’re keeping over $1000 and then reselling my seat so they can make twice the money. They are scoundrels.
Rather than charge a sensible fee to cancel or make a name change like most other airlines do, IcelandAir tricks its passengers with confusing boxes to check. If you are going to Europe, do NOT fly IcelandAir!

On flight from Seattle, Washington to Copenhagen our luggage did not arrive. There was a mechanical problem in Seattle and the airline needed to rebook 30 passengers to other flights. Probably our luggage was put on another flight. In Copenhagen we filed a delayed baggage report. We followed up for three days with phone calls and email. It became apparent that Icelandair does not answer the phone or respond to emails for such matters. On the 5th day without a change of clothes we started buying replacements. Unfortunately, my bag contained an essential medical supply. Icelandair was informed of this need with no response. It would appear that the corporate culture is one of they don’t care, as the very least that they could do would be to respond to our inquiry and advise that the luggage is lost.

We flew from Kelowna to Munich, through Reykjavik via Seattle on the way there and Edmonton on our return. We were shocked when we learned that there was no food or snacks provided other that the exorbitantly priced offerings. $9 Cdn for oatmeal! Even our local carrier provides pretzels during their 1 hour flights.
Secondly, despite booking several months in advance my husband and I were separated and his seat was double booked. He requires an aisle and was given the last remaining window seat, which was partially occupied by the neighbouring passenger.
Thirdly, the connection in Reykjavik was tight and after waiting in a painfully slow lineup at the passport control, we ended up being the ones responsible for delaying the flight. (we didn’t even take a much needed washroom break) There should be a system in place to provide priority lines for passengers on such flights.

Leaving Toronto on the 24th of july there where problems with the plains engine and we where stuck on the ground for over 1 hour and the air condition was broke, it was insanly hot, people where freaking out/crying and a baby was naked and dripping with sweat. We got one announcement after 5-6min from the capatain that it would start in 6-7min and then no notification until over and hour later. During this time we got one glass of water. When we landed in iceland the thing attaching to the door was broken and when we got out ower next plain was broken so we had to wait almost 3 hours delay with little to non information for the next plain to Norway. The airport was freezing in keflavik. When we got to Oslo the door of the plain would not open. There is no snack or free food on the plain. The good thing was that our baggage came and we survived the tecniqual issues and landed.
