    I was travelling from Christchurch to Fiji. Our flight was delayed from 1200hrs to 2015hrs. We stayed in the Auckland Intl Airport from 0900hr and arrived in Nadi at 2315hrs and given a $20 voucher as compensation. I was carrying over size luggage and had tried to pay for this online which I couldn’t. I was shocked at being charged $243.00NZD for this. We had to delay our trip to Rakiraki as it was to late at night and had to spend more money on a hotel across from the airport. This was upsetting and very costly to the start of our trip.

    Travelled from Phoenix to Melbourne, paid for luggage at US airport $180 from Phx to Mel (it’s in their website too!) but at Nadi, Fiji they forced us to pay again $416 for the luggage ( we have showed our payment receipt and their website, but they r just ignoring that completely) and literally threatened us if you don’t pay, u can’t board the flight.
    Returning home we contacted several times with this airlines but they are as rude as the airport staff. Saying it’s completely normal to pay twice for the same luggage. And not to mention their worst food servings! Only one cold meal in 11 hrs flight!
    I am just completely done with this airlines and won’t recommend to anyone!!!

    ExFijiLocal: Expensive holiday additional charges:Qantas website booking Fiji Airways partner 22 Dec to 28 Dec 2014 issues, no online access update Brisbane Nausori direct flt return connecting with Perth travel origin. Consequence contra to ticketing allowance 23kg charged excess for anything over 15kg from Perth via Brisbane est AU$350, again Nausori via Nadi to Sydney then connect with QF flt to Perth. Fiji Airways ticketing error had Nausori flt 2 days prior to Nadi depart, charged an extra FJ$270 for their error, no ticket re-issue until mercenary additional charge paid, told to re-write in formal complaint after reach destination, No response despite 3 contact letters. Out of pocket AU$750+ QBE Insure will not refund until letter additional to confirmed receipts from Fiji Airways in hand. BEWARE since Qantas accepts no responsibility to resolution as they do not have aircrafts travel to Fiji, use code share Fiji Airways. SUGGEST: Use Virgin or Air NZ into Nadi and out of Nadi…travel to Nadi/Suva/Nadi, safe and regular coaches/buses (FJ$25 each way). Fiji Airways profits last year 2014 may be due to tourists and passengers caught in Erroneus Excess Bag charges.

    Staff incompetent and uncaring about delayed flights. Took 3 hours to arrange a hotel for us to stay in.

    I had a horrible experience. They cancelled our flights, never called us so we booked on alternative airline and then refused any compensation. 3 friends have had similar experiences. Horrible service and rude staff
